A bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by HEC. A postgraduate degree/MBA is preferred.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀

You gotta have at least five years doing the banking grind—actual branch stuff. And, yeah, at least one of those years should’ve been you bossing people around, not just crunching numbers at a desk.

You should know your way around the basics—finance, banking rules, risk stuff, all that jazz. If you’ve messed with Islamic banking products before, that’s a big thumbs up.

What’s the gig?

– Basically, you’re the person making sure the Islamic banking branch doesn’t just coast. You’ll push for growth in everything—deposits, loans, profits, trade finance—you name it. It’s not just about keeping old customers happy, but also sniffing out new biz, all while making sure no one’s breaking rules (KYC, AML, SBP, all those acronyms bankers love to throw around). Oh, and you gotta hustle for cross-selling too, because why not?

– The branch has goals, obviously, and you’re on the hook for hitting every single one. That means watching costs like a hawk, plugging money leaks, and making sure every rupee counts. If you like chasing numbers (CA, SA, FCY Deposits, yadda yadda), you’ll fit right in.

– You’ll need to cook up sales plans to keep old clients sweet and reel in fresh ones. Deposits, loans, profit, trade finance, consumer lending…you’ll have your fingers in a lot of pies, honestly.

– Front staff? They’re your people. You’ll have to pump them up, train them, make sure they’re not just phoning it in. Basically, you’ll need to be a hype person and a coach. You’re in the trenches with them.

– Service matters, so if there’s a complaint, you don’t just let it rot. You fix stuff, tweak processes, keep the customers from storming out. Retention is the name of the game.

– You’ll be reviewing what’s going down in the branch, especially after audits. If there’s a red flag, you deal with it. Gotta make sure you’re ticking all the boxes for internal and SBP rules (think: KYC, AML, business continuity… the whole shebang). No one wants to be on the wrong side of the audit squad.

– If there’s something the auditors flagged before and it’s still hanging, you get it sorted. Same for any FCCM alerts. Basically, clean up the mess.

– You absolutely need to be able to talk to people—like, actually get your point across and maybe even charm them a bit. Being pushy (in a good way) helps, and you should have a knack for keeping relationships strong. If you’re the “people person” in your group, that’s what we’re talking about.
