Deputy Manager / Manager HR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Alright, here’s how a real person might lay all that out—no stuffy corporate nonsense:
- Handle everything in an employee’s journey—yeah, from hunting down new hires and getting them settled in, to sorting out their salaries, tracking who’s actually showing up, handling the boring paperwork, and even dealing with the messier stuff like promotions, people leaving, insurance headaches, and EOBI (you know, all that government-mandated jazz).
- Keep tabs on all the HR data—so, double-checking records, making sure stuff matches up in the system, and basically making sure nothing blows up because someone’s birthday was off by a digit.
- Take charge of hiring (yep, the whole talent chase), figuring out who’s crushing it and who’s not, helping set goals, lining up training sessions (because no one knows everything), and making sure there’s actually a plan if someone important bails. Succession planning, fancy way of saying “Plan B.”
- Push for HR to actually enter the 21st century—think moving everything online, e-records, portals so people don’t have to chase HR down for every little thing. Basically, less paperwork, more sanity.
- Stay on top of all the rules—HEC, labor laws, whatever policies the institution dreams up. Not exactly fun, but someone’s gotta make sure we don’t get slapped with fines.
- Write up and roll out policies, SOPs, and all those ‘how-to’ docs. The goal? Make things run smoother, keep the drama low, and make life easier for everyone (or, at least, try).
- Plan stuff that keeps employees from hating Mondays—fun events, CSR drives, the occasional HR project that actually makes the place better. Culture isn’t just a buzzword.
- Sort out pay, benefits, rewards—the works. People wanna feel valued, right? If you want folks to stick around, you gotta make it worth their while.
- Deal with the tough stuff—counseling, complaints, folks who can’t follow the rules. Keep it fair, keep it grown-up, and don’t let things get ugly.
Work with the big shots—academic and admin higher-ups—to make sure HR isn’t on a different planet from where
- the university actually wants to go. Teamwork makes the dream work, or whatever the slogan is these days.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- MS/ M.Phil in Business, Management, or a related field, with a specialization in HRM.
- 6+ years HR experience, including 2-3 years in a managerial role at a reputed organization.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of HR policies, laws, HEJ’s HR frameworks, ERP, digital HR solutions & Process improvement.
- Expert in talent management, compensation & benefits, training, development, and engagement initiatives.
- Strategic HR leadership ability to align change management, facilitation and people practices with organizational development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
