Kartarpur Gurdwara Restored After Flood

Kartarpur Gurdwara is a very special place for Sikh people. Recently, the area around Kartarpur experienced heavy flood submerging large parts under 10 to 12 feet of water. At that moment, about 300 Sikh pilgrims were visiting Kartarpur. But the Pakistan army and rescue teams used boats and helicopters to safely take out all the pilgrims.

Kartarpur Gurdwara Restored After Flood

When the water went down, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, ordered all teams to clean the shrine as soon as possible. Teams worked day and night to drain water. They scrubbed walls, washed floors. They also repaired broken roads and fixed electricity and water supplies. The repairs were done carefully so the Gurdwara would look just as beautiful and peaceful as before.

The Deputy Commissioner of Nankana Sahib personallysupervised the cleanup operations to ensure timely completion.

The Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, visitedKartarpur during the restoration. He promised that the government and military would fully support all repair work not only at Kartarpur but also at other religious places affected by floods.

The Gurdwara is expected to reopen for pilgrims in 3 to 4 days, depending on weather and river levels. The government is also planning to protect Kartarpur from future floods. They want to build stronger embankments (walls to hold back river water) and improve drainage systems so water does not collect near the shrine. These steps will help keep the holy site safe and open for pilgrims every year
