Pakistan Ranks Among Bottom 20 Countries on Global Peace Index 2025
Man, Pakistan’s really taken a hit this year—down four spots on the whole “most peaceful countries” scoreboard. Now they’re hanging out at a pretty dismal 144th out of 163 countries, according to the 2025 Global Peace Index. That basically shoves them into the bottom 20 globally. Not exactly a brag-worthy stat, huh?

So, every year, the Institute for Economics and Peace (yeah, those folks) drops this index that sizes up countries on stuff like safety, security, how much drama they’ve got going on with conflicts, and a whole bunch of other things they think matter.
According to the latest report, Pakistan’s position declined from last year, while regional and global comparisons revealed mixed performances:
- United Arab Emirates ranked 52nd,
- Saudi Arabia 90th,
- Sri Lanka 97th,
- China 98th,
- India 115th,
- Bangladesh 123rd,
- United States 128th.
So, Singapore’s still holding it down as Asia’s chillest spot—no surprises there, still hanging onto that global 6th place like it’s glued on. Right after, you’ve got Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia, and Finland rounding out the top ten. Honestly, that’s a pretty solid lineup. Kinda makes me wanna just pack a bag and go see what’s in the water over there.
Dead last on the list? Russia, sitting at 163rd—yikes. Then you’ve got Ukraine right behind at 162, followed by Sudan (161), DRC (160), Yemen (159), and Afghanistan (158). Not exactly destinations for your next vacation, huh?
Oh, and Israel? It landed at 155th, which, yeah, puts it squarely in the “top ten” for least peaceful countries. Not exactly an honor anyone’s bragging about.
